You often hear stories where people say they started a company with $10k. I don’t know why that is the magic number, but it seems to be.
I do think it’s possible but I don’t think it’s the norm. And I think it depends greatly on the business you’re starting (ie. are you building a service, physical product, or digital product business?)
I’m going to break down for you exactly what I’ve spent so far on Delegate, and give you the insider details. Below is the list, if you want the gory details (and $$$$$), it’s all in the audio!
Expected…
Company registration. (Though this had an unexpected element…)
Domain names and website hosting.
Email addresses.
Paid ads.
Dermatologist consulting fees.
Now we start the transition into more unexpected territory.
Tech licensing and subscriptions.
Notion
Slack
Typeform
Email
Text platform
Zapier integrations
Content editing tools
Social management tools… scheduling, posting, analytics
Influencer outreach
Designers.
Not really unexpected per-se but I hadn’t factored in…
A new laptop
Networking.
Focus groups.
Talent (at the point in time we needed it anyway).
Also, the two things I strongly recommend in this edition…
The Business Method (a crash course and game plan for starting a business)
One Peak Creative (how to conceive and create viral content)
